Fan of the Month: Clement Beylet I'm doing the hardest thing i ever did in my life: write in english to express what Johnny and his Jukes represent to me! I'm 38 years old and am living in France, in Strasbourg, close to the German border. When you love Southside Johnny, here, it's very hard to find something to eat. The record shops don't know much about this guy. "Isn't he the one that knows Bruce? Oh, yes, he sings with Little Bob (our french heroe), well, anything else? We have the new Madonna one, want some ?" Fortunately, after more than twenty years on the hunt, i have found most of the records. God bless patience! When I put one of them in the hifi, i shake, dance, sweat and laugh like a mad cat. He is the only one that brings sun in the rainy days at any time. He is the friend I never met, I never talked to, I never drank a beer with, but he's here, so close. Just a normal guy, except for the talent, just a father, a brother everyone should have. Paris, for me, is far away. I know he once in a while plays there, but I can't go. I saw him on stage, in Besancon (250 km from my place). It was the Better Days tour. We weren't so many in the crowd, the weather was bad, but the temperature on the stage was high. At the end of the gig, he asked us what we wanted him to play. We asked for songs the band never played before. But he did. It wasn't perfect, but it was absolute great. Just a moment shared, laughing whitout distance between the band and us. Well, excuse me if my english's a little bit rusty, but i had to write. I had to feel the thrill to do that. Hey, Johnny, go on. Stay as you are, don't change anything. As long as you will be with, we forget Bush and Chirac have the power, we forget about the pain on earth, we forget about the bills that ain't paid. If only music like yours could change the world. Salute your mates, Bruce, Stevie and all the ones that make life better. Clement Beylet
