April 2005:
In Memory of Kaitlyn A. Vece
Sept. 14, 1988 -
Mar. 27, 2005
"Kaitlyn,
We Will Miss You!"
This is what can be seen from Valley Road in Wayne, NJ on the
front lawn marquis of Wayne Valley High School. A perfect
reflection of feelings of what seemed to be every single member
of the student body who came out for Kaitlyn's viewing last
Wednesday. Kaitlyn passed away on Sunday, March 27th.
For those of you who may not have known Kaitlyn Vece, she was an
inspiration to us all. Her optimism, sweet smile and great
affection for all things Jukes has filled the hearts of all
those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was also August
2004 Southside Johnny Fan of the Month.
Kaitlyn Vece was diagnosed with Cystic Fybrosis when she was
three months old and spent every day trying to lead as normal of
a life as possible. She was 16 years old, a Junior in High
School, member of the Drama Club and even attended her Junior
Prom.
Her mother "Southside" Maryanne Hydock often spoke of how the
music of the Asbury Jukes, thanks to all the fans who sent her
CDs, raised her spirits tremendously in her times of need,
during those long stays in the hospital.
Kaitlyn Vece will hold a special place in many of our hearts and
we have decided to dedicate the Month of April 2005 to her
memory.
Kaitlyn, We Will All Miss You!
