Music has always been a significant part of my life especially during times of adversity. I have been following and listening to Southside for 30 years.

Last year, I received a frightening diagnosis. After I had my surgery, my husband, daughter and I decided to take a quick trip to Florida before I began my treatments. As luck would have it, Southside Johnny was playing at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, Florida.

Prior to the show, unbeknownst to me, my husband spoke to the tour manager and asked him if Southside Johnny would be willing to meet with me before the show. As we entered the theatre, Southside's tour manager greeted us and took us back stage to meet him. I was so shocked and overwhelmed I couldn't speak. Southside posed for photos with us and he was so kind and generous with his time.

As I underwent my treatments, I brought my headphones, listened to Southside and thought of his kindness and generosity. His music and act of kindness assisted me through a difficult time. I will never forget his sincerity.

I am happy to say my physicians have given me a 100% clean bill of health and have informed me I will live to be a very old lady, a very old lady who will be smiling as I remember the day I met Southside and dancing as I listen to his music.
