Ah yes, children; once again the disgruntled muttering begins. "When is that old fart gonna write another flipping Jive? What's he doing with himself, anyway? Lying stinko in a cardboard box on 34th street? Why doesn't Bill get out the cattle prod and MAKE HIM WORK!!!????" Well, yer right. I have been lax. But, to make up for my inertia, I am invoking my awesome powers as master of the known universe to declare that ..... WINTER IS OVER!!!!!!! Thas' correct, kiddies. In my capacity as overlord of all environs north, south, east and west of Jersey, I do now officially decree that spring-like weather is a mere...let's see...7...no, make that 10 days away.* (See footnote.) I myownself have spent the last part of Feb. snowed in with nothing but canned soup and a bottle of cooking sherry to keep body and soul together. My vehicle was covered with a disgusting pile of white ........stuff, and my 70-year-old neighbor lady and I had to dig a path for ours cars 40 feet long and 4 feet wide thru drifts that were 3 feet tall at times. I'm talking five days of torture! It took all of my strength to keep her shoveling. I nearly went hoarse urging her on from my kitchen window. She got it done, though. The funeral is this Friday. As you may know, we have a new drummer. I realize this is important to some of you, so let me explain a little. When we change musicians in the Jukes, it is usually a question of style and direction. Louis is a great guy and a terrific drummer, but I need to explore some different musical paths. It's always hard to face these things, but it has to be done. I know you all wish Louie well, and I do, too. Sometimes it sucks being the boss. On to happier crap. The Jukes and I will be out flailing away in April, and I hope to see all youse at the shows. I had wanted to make another album this year, and I haven't given up on the idea yet. Realistically....wait...since when did I ever think realistically? We WILL make another CD this year, dammit! Or maybe next. I dunno. In closing, let me express a sincere wish that the seemingly inevitable war will be somehow averted, and that no lives will be torn apart. I am not astute enough to say what's right or wrong in this situation, but I do know that no decent person wants to see people die on the battle field. As we used to say when I was a teen..... PEACE *All times approximate. The
management is not responsible for any goofy opinions or idiotic
views of the lead singer. Thank you and goodnight.
