Summer is over
Da boids has flown
If I had a lawn
It would be overgrown
But soon da trees
with varied hues
Will signal, lo
the wistful news
Autumn's here
Then Winter's blues
And so da Jukes....
Go to Europe where they'll freeze their asses off!
Thanks, Bill.

Yes, my darlings; once again the soft summer breezes turn sharp and scolding, "You've had yer fun...now it's time to pay the piper...or the sax player... whichever. We have a number of interesting dates coming up. This Friday in Wilmington, Delaware, we play at an Opera House with an old friend, David Bromberg. He is a long time session guitar player who has also had a solo career as a singer/songwriter/ guitarist/loon. We will be playing with him and against him in a shared setting that looks to be as chaotic and fun as any Juke show, but with added aggravation and back-up singers. Then we play a motorcycle thing...then a bar mitzvah...then a boat launching...a coupla funerals..oh! and Ed's circumcision. 'Bout time, too.

We then, once again, with total disregard for any NATO pacts or embargos against toxic materials, go to England and Europe. (Mike Saunders insists that I separate the two...Limey git!) Alas and alack, we will be without the services of Jeff Kazee, as he wants to "spend more time with the family"; i.e. his wife wants to have more children (since the first two didn't work out...rotten kids!) so he has to...ahem...get to work, knuckle down, get busy, and, excuse the expression, put his nose to the grindstone. Nuff said. Go, Jeff. We love the boy, and Constance and the Kids, too. In reality, he wants to finish his new CD, and, from what I've heard so far, it's gonna be worth missing the Blue Bread Truck for.
We will see young Kazazel down the road.

On a brighter note, Bobby B's beyootiful daughter Carly Jean got married to some yutz who, if he don't treat her right, is gonna get a fachime slap across the backside of his melon, look out. We wish the happy couple a grand and glorious life together without any 'a the crap I went through, that's for sure godammit sonsabitch!

In closing let me say (as if youse could stop me) that the Jukes and I appreciate your putting up with us for another Summer, and I promise it will all be over soon.

Like that lying sack o' shit dentist of mine always says..."This won't hurt a bit".

P.S. Eddie Manion also has a new CD coming out...fair warning! He will be debuting it in London...for the proper bribe.

Yours in flagrante;
Southside Johnny
