I am so sorry I haven't written a Jive in months. So very sorry. Really. See me weeping?

Can't you people amuse yourselves for a while! I'm an old man with...uh... Arthur-it is... yea that's it! And I got blisters on me fingers. Plus my pen ran out of ink. Oh, that's right, I'm on the computer. Well, so what! Pains in the neck. I'll get you all for this, see if I don't.

And now the news:
The weather has turned quite mild here in N.J. I rode my bike for the first time this year today, March 12th. All the way to the liquor store and back. Didn't spill a drop, neither. Thank god for twist-straws. Did you know that they have drive thru bars in Louisiana? My kinda state!

But the change in seasons means the ever-lovin' JUKES will be on the road again. I think we shall have another "What the Hell do YOU want to hear?" poll, since I can't remember any of the old songs. Just send in your suggestions to:

Jersey State Parole Office...

Sorry

You know where.....(here)

Don't listen to me.

We will, no doubt, play the usual places, with some surprise dates thrown in. I do hear that we are going to Europe twice! I guess once to play, and then back to apologize.

On the record front, the Big-Band-Tom Waits-Kill-All-Horn-Players thing is finished except for mixing and litigation. I hope to have it out before Summer, but you know how that is. I am very pleased with it, which is a rarity. Everyone did a great job, and LaBamba's charts are amazing. Oh, and Tom Waits sings a duet with me. Fair warning.

As you all know, we lost Sean Giblin a while ago. There isn't a day goes by that I don't think of him. He was a true spark.

Now I get word that an old buddy of Garry Tallent's and mine, Bill Chinnock, has died. Billy was a member of the UpStage Club gang, and a talented song-writer/singer. It's a damn shame.

To lighten the mood, (except for music lovers), I am moving towards recording another Jukes CD. No, that's not a threat, although I could be talked out of it for the right price. I don't know what shape it will take musically, but it's bound to be disagreeable. Stay tuned.

I'd like to thank all and sundry who worked on the Juke Box release. It's a nice package and the response has been great. Thanks for supporting us. As Sarah Bernhardt says:

Without you, I'm Nothing

Well at least I'm not much.

Oh... Congrats to Bobby and Tracy. Two bigger fools ne're were born. Mozoltov

Southside Johnny
