“I went to see Hood today with Phil, and he is doing so much better that my heart rejoiced. He is sitting up, walking and talking and complaining about not getting any ice cream. Karen has done a great job with him and deserves much credit. He’s one of the best people I know. Hallelujah!”

Also special thanks to the asshole sitting behind me using his flash photography for the whole show, very classy.

Speaking of Johnny and sporting moments, the Jukes played at a blues festival in downtown Toronto the same night as game 6 of the 93 world series. I was working for a TV station then and had a media pass for the game, caught the Jukes first set, Johnny said the Jays fans would be bummed out because the Phillies were going to win. Got down to the ball park by the 3rd inning and watched Joe Carter hit his famous game winning home run in the 9th. Quite a night!!
