Until the better videos get posted on YouTube, this shaky video shows what quilly & Peaches are writing about. One of the many moments that made last night amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBi-SSlTimY
It was heavenly to be in the same room with Steven, Bruce and Our Fearless Lead Singer last evening. They seemed so thrilled to be together; the vibes were incredible!
Thank you, John. The new version of the old message board is a gift! Now I know how Pam Ewing felt when she woke up to find Bobby in the shower (so to speak)....it was all just a weird dream sequence!! But, here we are, back where we belong. Thanks again!
Juke........You're right in that the Peak is a great venue. The Pole Barn might be a better suited for a Poor Fools show possibly. I've seen a couple Jukes show there and they always Rock there. Southside always arranges one hell of a setlist for Penn's Peak show. It's wise to stay overnight because it's a trek from NY & NJ. Plenty of nice places to stay in Jim Thorpe(Maxkwchunk) and nearby Lehighton. The panoramic views from the wrap around deck at Penns Peak are breathtaking. Gotta meet up with my Buddy Chek for one or two Shawnee Microbrews......
Gary...........To make matters worse.......Swisher makes a great throw to Cano who tags the runner on the chest and is ruled safe. Umpires out of position led to this bad call and the Skipper had enough already. Getting tossed to motivate the club didn't help either. The Malaise has set in so Detroit can get out the broom because the Yanks are gonna get swept with an all time low in batting average as a team.
CC, it is a sad thing to behold. Consider this: Cano should have been safe at first, with RBI in first. Yanks win in bottom of ninth, and Jeter does not get hurt. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts....However, like you say, offense has disappeared, and now back to Detroit already two down. Don't look good.
Chek........Jukes return to the Peak in April.....will wonders ever cease? Could be a little nippy out on that deck at Roadies......I'll be heading to Jim Thorpe soon for gandering at foliage
Gary, I've never seen such a pitiful offensive display and now the Yanks have the dubious record of being the only team in history to have bases loaded in 3 innings and not score. Yanks are hitting like Southside hitting beachballs with a guitar..... LOL Hello to all and I hope to see some posts by Peaches, Forever Young, and Rose Walsh. At least the Giants taught the 49ers a thing or two! CC
I usually lurk, but boy an I glad this forum is back! Saw the Poor Fools in Kent, Oh and had a great time. Now I'm itching for a Jukes show, maybe in Cleveland this winter, please?
tonyb, the 2 dates in july were a part of a blues festival and not dates organised by the band directly. the tour that has been a part of oct/nov for many years has been "canned" for 2012.
Hoooooray!! Missed this place. Freehold raceway was a damn good time. Random thought - I recently put the jukes live radio recording from cleveland (9/15/1980 at the agora) back in rotation in the car cd player - what a perfect set, and the band and johnny both sounded on fire. The banter with the crowd pretty entertaining too. Hope one day he brings back the sam cooke medley back to the set
Hi Kids! I've missed you all. It's great to have this site back up and running. Sometimes it's easy to take little things for granted, only to miss the experience when it's gone. I'm looking forward to the show at William Paterson....the last time SSJ and the "Asbury" Jukes played there was about 1978. Great venue, great acoustics. Take care, OK?

"organize"! Are you crazy? Then, it wouldn't be the "old board."
Ahhhh! The Gangs all here! Well.....JK's Reds left the Oktoberfest far too early. The ex-Phillies I loved are leading their teams and I'm stuck watching the Yankees whose # 3, 4, and 5 hitter's are O-For's. Maybe they need Ricky Byrd to sing the National Anthem or do it Jimi Hendrix style. Gotta get to a Jukes show real soon......Withdrawal has set in Time to search for a nice Oktoberfest. CC
Yay new message board!!! Now our FB friends won't automatically know when we ditch their weddings/births/birthdays to go to Jukes shows. Ok maybe I'm the only one who does that. Yay anyway!!!
Alleluia......Amen the Old Messageboard has returned. Be great to hear from Peaches and Gary(formerly of NY now of NJ) and Forever Young and Rose Walsh. I guess the squeaky wheels got the grease! Thanks to the powers that be! CC
Ahhh, happy day. Glad to welcome back the chaos of the old board. I suppose we COULD organize it a bit better (different threads, etc.) but what fun would THAT be? See y'all soon.
Welcome to the new/old/new board! Click "Register" on the top right to claim you old screen name or pick a new one, then click "Post Reply" on the top left to add your message to the top of the board.
If you're interested, you can look around the User Control Panel to set up a signature or add a picture to go along with your posts, but none of that is required.
Welcome to the new message board! A quick note from Uncle South
All hail and welcome, my peeps. It's ole Unc Southside coming atcha with the data what mattas. I love the new website, but I was not happy with the message board access. So I cracked my virtual whip and, voila, we gots a more betterer ..ahem...forum. ( Why do I always look around for lions when I hear that word.) The fab Ms Effie has been toiling under the baleful eye of Harvey (Legree) Leeds with only a crust of bread and an Apple II to make things more ...uh...accessible. I hope you find it so. Otherwise: LET THE DOGS RUN! Enjoy.
