Had the time this AM to look at pictures/video from the shore posted on CNN.com, NY Times.com and USA Today.com. Did not really to see expect the level of destruction that has taken place. Cleaning up the mess and getting back to normal is going to be a struggle. I hope anyone in the area is safe.

I am blown away by some of those photos today of Seaside Hts, LBI, Aycee, and the rest. Never thought it would be that bad. Prayers to all who suffered losses. Just got tix for 2/1 Clearwater, last visit to CLW was the frozen blues festival of 2009. Good move taking no chances & going with an indoor venue this time!! :D Looking fwd to it.

Thank you, Carol...Johnny.

Of course he is kidding, Carol. I mean everyone knows that you can't hold a Martini glass and paddle at the same time...unless, um, he has that fluid backpack with the long flexi straw filled with...hmmmm...
Good luck to our Ocean Grover, too!

Good morning! I hope everyone is doing ok in the storm so far. Southside said he's out kayaking with a martini, and I'm pretty sure he's joking. He did ask me to tell all of the East Coast Jukesters that he hopes we all stay safe and dry.

Good luck!

Avatar is not a cartoon, but it does have a character. Photo is from the Meet and Greet at the Masters of Music evening at McLoone's Supper Club in A.P., back in March. Southside and Bobby were posing and signing that evening, and when I spoke to Johnny, he was very warm and gracious. He was laughing, and answered my questions, which he had probably heard 100 times already that night. Then we turned so that Mr. Cavanaugh could take the photo. A few days later, I received an email containing what you see to the right. Man looks like he's ready to run screaming into the night. I swear, I didn't touch him.

Spent the weekend in Jim Thorpe and of course with my luck a week before the Jukes tickets went onsale for the April 19th show. Found a reasonable hotel close to Penn's Peak. It's the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Lehighton Hotel at the Junction of the Pa. Turnpike and Rt. 209. Has an indoor pool and breakfast is included. We had fun eating at Roadies this past saturday afternoon......Can't wait for April......Chek are you in???

I finally got off my duff and downloaded Southside's live "Men Without Women" from I-tunes the other day. Probably hesitated because I've never been a big fan of live albums, but this one is a killer!! The band was smokin' that night, very impressed as to how faithful they were to Steven's original LP which I still play on a fairly regular basis. Really enjoyed hearing South sing "Lyin in a Bed of Fire" and "Save Me", two of my favorites, but truthfully, there isn't a bad song in the bunch.. Jeff's take on the title track is also a highlite... My 22 year old was home the other day and recognized the music right away because his roommate has the original vinyl lp, asked when Southside recorded it, he couldn't believe it was a live recording, he thought it sounded that good!! Haven't stopped listening to it..

Some notes from last night at Showcase Live.... Before singing Baby's Gone for Good, SSJ admitted that hearing Elvis Costello sing it Tuesday was a thrill. The romantic banter intro to The Fever involved Southside advising a young man up front that the way to keep the heat in a relationship is 1) to get up and make the coffee in the morning and 2) not to leave dirty underwear on the bathroom floor. That Southside sure knows the way to a woman's heart.

Excellent reportage!

Ipanema and Jamaica...sounds like Southside has travelin' on his mind!!

Some gems in that setlist! Sweeter Than Honey and Messin' Around with the Blues!

Hoping to hear Some Things Just Don't Change and Livin' with the Blues at some point soon as well!

Heart of Saturday Night
Drowning in My Own Tears (Jeff lead vocals)
Looking For A Love (Jeff lead vocals)

Good afternoon - Like others, I don't post too often, but do have a look frequently. And was a big mouth on facebook complaining about that setup. I am so impressed that South, or whomever, listened to all of us and came back to this old fashioned version of a message board, that we all seem to prefer. Nice job, great that you listened to the community. Another reason to cheer for Southside and the Jukes. Thanks, Mike

Marksie, you made my day by recognizing the fabulous El Kabong! He's so underappreciated in Cartoonland. Sometimes standing in the front by the speakers, I feel like I am being brained by El Kabong.

I must say that I'm also am very impressed by your Joe Rockhead avatar. Nice, deep Flintstones knowledge there...

Thank you, Quilly!

It was heavenly to be in the same room with Steven, Bruce and Our Fearless Lead Singer last evening.
They seemed so thrilled to be together; the vibes were incredible!

Thank you, John. The new version of the old message board is a gift! Now I know how Pam Ewing felt when she woke up to find Bobby in the shower (so to speak)....it was all just a weird dream sequence!! But, here we are, back where we belong. Thanks again!

Juke........You're right in that the Peak is a great venue. The Pole Barn might be a better suited for a Poor Fools show possibly. I've seen a couple Jukes show there and they always Rock there. Southside always arranges one hell of a setlist for Penn's Peak show. 8-) It's wise to stay overnight because it's a trek from NY & NJ. Plenty of nice places to stay in Jim Thorpe(Maxkwchunk) and nearby Lehighton. The panoramic views from the wrap around deck at Penns Peak are breathtaking. :o Gotta meet up with my Buddy Chek for one or two Shawnee Microbrews......

Gary...........To make matters worse.......Swisher makes a great throw to Cano who tags the runner on the chest and is ruled safe. Umpires out of position led to this bad call and the Skipper had enough already. :? Getting tossed to motivate the club didn't help either. The Malaise has set in so Detroit can get out the broom because the Yanks are gonna get swept with an all time low in batting average as a team.

CC, it is a sad thing to behold. Consider this: Cano should have been safe at first, with RBI in first. Yanks win in bottom of ninth, and Jeter does not get hurt. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts....However, like you say, offense has disappeared, and now back to Detroit already two down. Don't look good.
