Methinks the "new" website is too clever by half, with all the sideways and upsy-downsy scrolling, after a few sips of grog you could get a little seasick (not from the grog but from the stale ice [hats off to Mr. WC Fields}) - anyways the Jive is in a horizontally scrolling "News" box. And, more importantly, IS it grog time yet?

That bread was fresh, of course, not as fresh as some of the fans in the front row (whom shall remain nameless...). Really it was...all nutty and spicy...don't ask why but somehow I was reminded of the Lead Singer...and pricey I might add, but I really can't add so who knows.... In any event, it is probably best to bake it really well...then deep fry it just in case...and, whatever you do...don't feed it to the birds, please....

There is a new jive from the birthday boy. Re the fuse in his birthday package, we know the lead singer is no handyman. The fuse was attached as decoration to a crank powered flashlight and cell phone charger, which really would be handy when your lights go out, unlike....

The show at BB King's was fab!!

How great to hear a surprise version of Breakdown!

There was an early celebration of Uncle Southside's 64th Birthday to which the front row gave the musical answer: Yes!

Yes.... to each and every question that Sir Paul poses in his song.
Will you still need me?
Will you still feed me?
Will you still be sending me a Valentine, Birthday Greeting…and, yes a bottle of wine.

One of the reasons for our answer is: That Voice … it soothes, stimulates commiserates, educates and just all around sets things right.

Thank you, Southside here’s to 64 and many more and please keep on rockin’!!

LeRoy's Basement Vol. I Sounds very interesting, indeed.
Just saw Uncle Southside's Jive on the eve of the hurricane. I can only imagine that someone gave him a "unique" Rosetta Stone gift set. Perhaps he will give us an translation this evening at BB King's?

See you real soon.......

Good morning, everyone! Looking forward to the benefit at Highlands today: http://www.highlandsnj.com/

It's not an official Jukes show or an official Fools show, but many Jukes and Fools, including Southside, will be there to support the cause.

Come on down! (Literally, down the hill from 36.)

That's right, Peaches, BB Kings is coming up! That's always a great place to see a Jukes show, especially when the city will be all lit up for the Holidays. If you come into town early that day, I recommend the free ice skating at Bryant Park, 42nd and 6th, about 2 (long) blocks from BB Kings. http://www.bryantpark.org/things-to-do/pond.html

Who's coming into town for BB Kings? Remember, doors open at 6, show at 8 -- gotta get everything done before the disco crowd comes in.

Light Of Day Concert - Niagara Falls

Postby Canadian Fan » November 11th, 2012, 6:17 pm

Thanks to Miss October for posting the setlist from the Niagara Falls (Ontario) Show. Hopefully the organizers have Southside Johnny return for the annual event next year. It was a great night of music. Five hours of music for a ticket price of just $40.. It was great to speak to the Kingpin at the merchandise table. That makes three Southside Johnny concerts (two with the Poor Fools and one with the Jukes) for me within two hours of home this year.

Hope the Jukes return to Jergel's soon because it's a great venue for live music but the management needs to get their employees on the same page as far as door times, dinner times, etc.

Thanks to Peanuts for getting my photo signed!

Just a note about Jergel's reserved 'concert' seating.... it's an extra $10 per person to do that.
They rarely put tables on the floor [except for the edges] for good dance bands so I do hope they keep it clear for the Jukes!

Glad to hear that the Jukes are fine. We were very lucky......all of our trees are still standing and the roof did not
leak...no complaints here. Just spoke with the kind folks at Jergels regarding next week's show. They will have tables "near the band, which can be reserved." Doors open at 6, the show starts at 8, and there is no opening band. However, they could not decide about a dance floor, and if it should be in front of or behind the tables....I let them know that Jukes' fans NEED to be allowed to be up and dancing...They were happy to hear that and will oblige with room to dance, so they said....

Hope everyone is safe, has heat and water, and can find the gas to make the trip west next week!!
